Energy Economics Lab

The EECON Lab supports the energy transition through energy economic research in three key areas. First, it analyzes individuals' behavior toward renewable energy, participation, and consumption flexibility using laboratory experiments and virtual reality. Second, the lab supports structural change in Lusatia through market analyses and surveys to assess value creation and employment in the transition to decentralized energy supply. Third, it models energy systems to optimize market designs and improve demand forecasts using econometrics and machine learning. the aim isto better understand complex systems, to take uncertainties into account and to shape the transformation of the energy system on a scientifically sound basis.
