Technology Transfer
Collaboration between science and industry is crucial to driving innovation and advancing technological solutions in the energy sector.
Our Innovation and Start-up Center EIZ SPARK aims to intensify cooperation and technology transfer between the EIZ laboratories and stakeholders in the energy ecosystem, both in Lusatia and worldwide. These include companies, start-ups, non-university research institutions, investors, and many more.
For Company We provide direct access to the latest research findings and support the entire transfer process: from identifying and mediating suitable technological solutions to successfully concluding the contract.
Scientific staff We provide comprehensive support on their innovation path: from the initial idea through the protection of intellectual property to successful commercialization and collaboration with strong industry partners.
Our mission: We are driving the transition to a sustainable energy system by accelerating the transfer of technology from our research laboratories to the market.

Our technologies
In six laboratories Over 100 scientists are developing new technologies for an efficient, flexible, and sustainable energy system of the future. The focus is on solutions for intelligent energy management, sector coupling, and the integration of electromobility. New tools enable optimized control of complex energy systems and help to adapt electricity consumption to price signals. At the same time, innovative approaches for the further development of charging infrastructure for electric vehicles are being developed.
Another focus is on the analysis and modeling of energy systems. Advanced models take sector coupling and uncertainties into account more precisely and provide reliable forecasts of feed-in, capacities, and prices. In addition, new laboratory environments are being created for acceptance research on renewable energies, in order to ensure that technological developments are also socially successful.
Furthermore, we are working on technologies for energy conversion and storage. These include high-performance electrolyzers and synthesis processes for green hydrogen and synthetic fuels, as well as CO₂-neutral storage solutions and innovative design principles for sustainable energy storage. This lays the technological foundation for a secure, climate-neutral energy supply.
To make research results and technological developments accessible to a broad audience, we create compact [documents/synonyms/etc.]. Transfer profiles on selected technologies from the laboratories. They provide a quick overview of current research fields and can serve as a first impetus to explore possible collaborations with the EIZ.
Concrete examples already show that successful partnerships can emerge from this: For example, we are working with the startup SAILWINT in the field of hydrogen production, as well as with 50 hertz Transmission GmbH for integrated network planning.
